"I am intrigued and fascinated by Diane McPhail’s paintings done to music, as if her brush were another instrument in the composition. The brush strokes and colors virtually dance off the canvas. These works are alive like Art in Motion, representing a symphony of movement, balance, and color. Bravo!"
Dian Winingder, President, New Orleans Academy of Fine Arts
"I am always thrilled to witness Diane's multiple mediums in creating works of art and narratives that capture profound truths about nature, humanity, and spirituality. Rarely does one interact with a visual or written piece by Diane McPhail without learning and introspection; fortunately for collectors and readers, Diane possesses the soul of an artist and poet with the heart of a teacher. Her work's intellectual and spiritual depths are truly matriculation in history, the arts, and world religion."

Diane McPhail has been making art since she was old enough to hold a paintbrush. She lived in France as a student and taught French, but her life-long passion remained in the arts. She holds an M.F.A. in studio art, an M. A. in clinical art therapy, and a Doctor of Ministry degree in creativity and spirituality.
The etymology for the word “work” leads down a long rabbit hole and arrives at “to do.” Creativity was a term limited for centuries to the Divine until after the Enlightenment. The root of enthusiasm comes from ancient Greek enthusiasmos or en-theos, to be filled with god.
Making art is about seeing: seeing is a process of extraordinary discovery, whether that be an unexpected color on a face before us or the joy of layering paint in color, movement, and texture.
